On 2nd July, I attended the Westminster Health Forum Keynote Seminar, with impressive list of speakers of dental care professionals and parliamentarians.  

 Eric Rooney, Consultant, Dental Public Health, Public Health England addressed a packed hall on the challenges and opportunities facing the profession.  He raised important questions on the steps that can be taken by health professionals and others on prevention, the pathway care approach  in dental public health, what additional opportunities exist to improve patient health outcomes, and finally what more can be done by health professionals to inform patients about the full range of treatments available to them. Subsequent speeches addressed some of the issues with well thought out presentations, generating important questions from the audience.

The prevailing mood of the seminar, was constructive and positive, hopefully leading to a lively debate by the dental community
